I applied to 300 jobs and got 1 interview
Not exaggerating.
After being laid off twice since 2022, I was doing what everyone tells you to do:
- Fix your resume
- Apply everywhere
- Tailor every application
I did that for 6 weeks.
I got one interview.
That interview didn't come from a resume
It came from a comment.
I replied to a post from someone talking about hiring.
They responded the same day.
We talked the next day.
A week later I was speaking with the hiring manager.
That was my only interview.
That's when something clicked
Applying wasn't working.
Conversations were.
And once you see it, you can't unsee it
Think about it:
Every hiring manager is already on LinkedIn.
They're posting. Commenting. Talking.
Meanwhile everyone else is:
uploading resumes into a black hole
The problem
This sounds obvious in hindsight, but actually doing it sucks.
You have to:
- Find the right posts
- Know what to say
- Not sound like a bot
- Do it consistently
I tried doing it manually.
It doesn't scale.
So I built something for myself
Not as a startup idea.
Just because I needed it.
Something that:
- Finds relevant posts
- Writes thoughtful comments
- Actually sounds like a human
That turned into Junior.
What it actually does (no fluff)
- Finds posts from people hiring or talking about roles
- Generates comments that start conversations
- Helps you get replies instead of being ignored
That's it.
No resume blasting.
No spam DMs.
What happened after
Instead of this:
apply → wait → nothing
It became:
comment → reply → conversation
And that's where opportunities actually come from.
If you're skeptical, that's fair
I was too.
But I also know what it feels like to:
- Apply to everything
- Hear nothing back
- Wonder what you're doing wrong
This was the only thing that worked for me.
If you want to try it
I made it available as a product.
https://heyjunior.ai/register.html
- 14-day free trial

Either way
Stop relying only on applications.
Start conversations.
That's the whole game.
